COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police are looking into a robbery that quickly escalated into an assault.
The incident happened in the 4100 block of Galley Road on Monday night around 10:30 p.m.
When officers arrived on scene they found the 28-year-old victim with severe injuries to his face.
The victim told police while he was walking home he was approached from behind by an unknown man.
The suspect assaulted the victim and took s
ome personal items before fleeing on foot.
The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect is described as a black man about 5'9''. He was last seen wearing a green plaid zip-up sweatshirt and dark colored pants with a grey "beanie style" cap.
