COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A homeowner helps fend off a potential burglar.
Colorado Springs police were dispatched to a burglary in progress in the 4300 block of Fountain Springs Grove around 3 a.m. Friday.
The victim had found a man inside of his home and actively began fighting with the intruder.
Authorities were informed that the intruder had a gun and tried to fire it, but it malfunctioned. That's when the homeowner disarmed the suspect with a baseball bat.
When officers arrived the suspect was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for a head injury. The homeowner was not injured.
The incident is under investigation.
