FOUNTAIN, COLO. -- An El Paso County Sheriff's Office employee who was shot several times in the torso is no longer in critical condition, according to deputies.

Shannon Paolini was shot several times during a seven hour standoff in which Gammal Perez allegedly murdered a child and himself Monday.

Paolini was Perez's girlfriend and was running from the house in the 7900 block of Gate Post Lane when Perez allegedly shot her multiple times. She had been in critical condition for two days, but has been upgraded to serious. She remains at Memorial Hospital.

A bank account has been set up for Shannon Paolini at 5 Star Bank. You can go online or to any 5 Star branch and donate to the Shannon Paolini Victim Fund to help take care of Shannon's medical care and services for Gavin. This is the only account the family has approved.

There will be a blood drive on June 1 at the Sheriff's Office Training Academy.
