PUEBLO, COLO. -- Vestas Towers America Inc. officials said the company has now enhanced safety measures since an employee at its wind turbine manufacturing plant in Pueblo suffered a broken wrist and the partial amputation of two fingers.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recently proposed $164,000 in fines after an inspection at the plant.
OSHA cited Vesta with a "willful" violation and another alleged 23 other serious violations.
Vestas said Wednesday it has since addresses many of OSHA's concerns.
The company has just received a new order for 111 turbines from Enel Green Power North America Inc. for a project in Kansas.
