Fort Carson soldier dies in Afghanistan

FORT CARSON, COLO. -- The Department of Defense (DOD) has confirmed a Fort Carson soldier died in Afghanistan Monday.

Sgt. Ken Hermogino of Edwards Air Force Base, Calif. died in a non combat-related car crash in Afghanistan.

Hermogino was a part of the 4th Infantry Division and was in Herat Province at the time of the crash.

He entered the Army in November 2001 and has been with his unit since July. He had been in Afghanistan since June.
