PUEBLO, COLO. -- The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office identified the man who died during an explosion at a steel mill in Pueblo Wednesday afternoon.
Authorities said the victim, 30-year-old Ignacio Rendon Cornelio, was a contract worker from Hammond, La.
Cornelio was originally from Mexico.
Deputies responded to a report of an explosion at a steel mill in south Pueblo.
The sheriff's office said the explosion happened at Western Metals Recycling, a recycling business that leases property on the Evraz Rocky Mountain Steel Mill site.
They said there are no other injuries, and there is no threat to the public.
Deputies did say it was an industrial accident, but officials with Western Metals are not commenting.
