COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A high speed chase leaves two motorcyclists injured and arrested.

The Colorado State Patrol said an officer tried to pull the two over for speeding on I-25 near mile post 122, but they wouldn't stop.

A chase began and lasted for several miles, reaching speeds of over 100 miles per hour, before officers called it off because of the danger to other drivers.

The two then exite d the highway on Academy but lost control on the turn and crashed.

Officers said the two suffered minor injuries and were very lucky.

"Both of these people had helmets on, so it probably saved them a lot of serious injuries by wearing those helmets," Sgt. Major Tony Rasnake with the Colorado State Patrol said.

But the two weren't so lucky when it came to the law, they both were arrested and could face felony charges.
