Good samaritan is carjacked

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police said a man who stopped to help a stranded motorist early Saturday morning was carjacked.

According to police, the man pulled over around 2 a.m. near East Platte Avenue and Iowa Avenue to help a stranded motorist. Then a white older model Ford Crown Victoria or Chevy Caprice pulled into the area.

The victim said a Hispanic male, 21-25 years old, 5'5", 160 pounds, shaved head, wearing blue jeans and a white jersey got into his car and started to drive away.

The man chased after the suspect who then brandished a handgun.

The victim's car was last seen eastbound on E. Bijou Street.

The victim's vehicle is a black Suzuki Areo with Colorado license 507GIX. The white vehicle that the suspect arrived in also fled the area.
