Employee assaulted during robbery

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs Police officers responded to a robbery Friday around 10 p.m. at the Pizza Hut in the 1100 block of North Circle Drive.

Police said a male suspect entered the store with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect then assaulted an employee before leaving the area with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Officers searched the area but were unable to find the suspect.

The employee suffered minor injuries.

The investigation is ongoing.
