CASTLE ROCK, COLO. (AP) -- A woman is dead after four-vehicle crash on Interstate 25 near Castle Rock.
The crash happened Tuesday night at the Surrey Ridge exit and shut down the highway for several hours.
The Colorado State Patrol said the woman was driving a 2000 Jeep Cherokee southbound and hit the rear of a tractor-trailer that was stopped on the left shoulder because of mechanical problems. The Jeep spun into the next lane and hit two other vehicles and the woman driving the Jeep was ejected.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Two people in the other southbound vehicles were taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
