DENVER (AP) -- An Oregon man is in a Colorado jail after police say he sexually assaulted a woman in a deserted concourse at Denver International Airport.
Two airline employees who saw the attack early Tuesday called police, and officers arrested 26-year-old Noel Alexander Bertrand of Portland.
The 22-year-old woman told television stations KMGH and KDVR she missed a connecting flight and decided to spend the night in the airport when she met a man at an airport bistro. The man later followed her, then sexually assaulted her when she refused his request for a kiss.
The woman says two janitors passed by during the attack but did nothing.
A woman who said she's Bertrand's grandmother answered the phone at his Portland home and said he's a former U.S. Marine. She declined further comment.
