SOUTHERN COLORADO -- Authorities are investigating two unrelated stabbings that happened in Lamar and Colorado Springs this past weekend.
Lamar Police officers said they found injured 34-year-old Brian Hager in the street around 10 p.m. Saturday. Police responded to the 100 block of West Hickory Street an were able to identify three of the men involved.
Police arrested 31-year-old Abraham Kalani and 28-year-old Shane Kalani, both from Wiley. They also arrested 32-year-old Daniel Knight from Lamar.
Police charged both Kalani's with first degree assault and charged Knight with felony menacing and disorderly conduct.
They said they expect more charges to come from this case, which is still under investigation.
Hager is in critical condition at Denver General Health.
In an unrelated incident, El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies are investigating a stabbing that happened Sunday afternoon in Colorado Springs.
Deputies said a 42-year-old man was stabbed at the Creekside Apartments in the 3400 block of West Colorado Avenue in the city. The man walked to a nearby Sonic around 3:30 p.m. after the stabbing, where Colorado Springs Fire crews met him while responding to an unrelated call.
Officials transported him to Penrose Hospital, where they treated him for cuts to his liver and abdomen.
Detectives interviewed the person who lives in the apartment where the stabbing happened, but deputies have not filed any charges.
The victim is in stable condition.
