COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A former Fort Carson soldier who was found guilty of first degree murder in the death of a 19-year-old has learned his fate.

The Fourth Judicial District Attorney's Office said 23-year-old Robert Marko was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

In 2008, Marko confessed to killing 19-year-old Judilianna Lawrence, but plead not guilty by reason of insanity.

Investigators said Marko led them to Lawrence's body in the woods west of Colorado Springs.
