FORT CARSON, COLO. -- It was a warm welcome home for nearly 150 Fort Carson soldiers at the Mountain Post late Tuesday night.
The Iron Brigade soldiers spent the past year in Iraq advising and assisting the Iraqi army, police and border enforcement across the four southern provinces.
During their deployment the soldiers made significant improvements in both the security posture and the quality of life.
The brigade provided oversight and funding for more than 100 projects throughout Iraq, bringing essential services to the citizens of that country.
They returned around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
