SOUTHERN COLORADO -- Comcast is teaming up with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to launch 'Missing Kids On Demand,' a first-of-its-kind On Demand service profiling missing children.
The service launched on Comcast On Demand Thursday in select regional areas, including southern Colorado.
Officials with the center said about 800,000 kids go missing every year, including about 12,000 from Colorado.
Missing Kids On Demand will feature 20 video profiles of missing child cases from across the country with 10 more added monthly. The video profiles run roughly two minutes in length and include photos as well as details of missing child cases, including the city of the disappearance, possible whereabouts, and in some cases information about possible abductors.
"The best way to help find a missing child is to get the message out as broadly as possible," President and CEO of National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Ernie Allen said in a statement. "Our partnership with Comcast enables us to reach millions of homes across the country we may not otherwise reach and empowers viewers with the resources they need to help solve cases."
Comcast has a Police Blotter on Demand, showing profiles of criminals, which has lead to almost 100 arrests.
There are currently 41 missing children in the state of Colorado, according to the center's website.
