CRIPPLE CREEK, COLO. (AP) -- The results of DNA tests have confirmed that a human skull found by a hunter in the woods near Cripple Creek is that of a 44-year-old woman believed killed and dismembered by her boyfriend.

Teller County Coroner Al Born tells The Gazette in Colorado Springs that the skull found in November belonged to Rebecca Magallanes (mah-gah-LAH-nis) of Florence. Her torso was found in Custer County shortly after she disappeared in 2009.

The victim's live-in boyfriend, John Paul Williams, was arrested in July on suspicion of first-degree murder in her death. Last year, he was found incompetent to stand trial and is scheduled to undergo a second competency hearing Feb. 17.

He is at the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo.
