BLACK FOREST, COLO. -- Wild Blue Animal Rescue and Sanctuary in Black Forest is a newand growing animal shelter.

Lauri Cross founded the shelter in 2009 after retiring from the Air Force. As an avid animal lover, she is committed to helping El Paso county become a "no-kill" county. Cross is looking for donations, volunteers, and people that are willing to invest in property for new growth.

Currently, the shelter houses cats only. Expansion plans would mean horses and dogs would be rescued as well. Right now, many shelters are so crowded with animals that they are euthanized to reduce overall populations.

Visit Wild Blue's website for more information on the animals and how you can help.
