COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A family was displaced after a small fire started in one of the bedrooms at their apartment.

Officials said the fire was started by a child playing with a lighter.

Firefighters were called around 5 p.m. to the Hunting Meadows Apartment Complex in the 4200 Block of Hunting Meadows Circle in Colorado Springs.

Officials said the fire was contained to the bedroom and no other apartments were affected.

The family of seven was displaced for the night, and the Red Cross is assisting them.

Officials estimate the damages to be at $10,000.

There were no injuries reported.
