Erin Carroll from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region introduced us to Mischief, a 3-year-old male black cat who is neutered. His shiny fur coat matches his sparkling personality -- which might help explain why he ranked as a "Leader of the Band" in the Humane Society's "Feline-ality" program where they try to assess a cat's personality.
Mischief's adoption fee is $48.
However, there are adoption specials every weekend through the end of 2010 -- starting with "Black Cat Friday" on Nov. 26. Carroll said every black or black and white cat or kitten can be adopted for only $20.
If you're looking for that perfect holiday photo with your furry friend, then you might want to consider stopping by Santa Paws. On Saturday, Dec. 4 and Sunday, Dec. 5, local photography Tom Sluder will take a family portrait with your pets at the Humane Society. All proceeds from the sale of the pictures will benefit homeless animals. The session run each day from 9:00 am until 4:00 p.m.
