CANON CITY, COLO. (AP) -- The man accused of dismembering a woman found in Custer County last year has been found incompetent to stand trial for the killing.

Instead, 58-year-old John Paul Williams will be housed at the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo for an indefinite period of time.

The Pueblo Chieftain reports that Williams suffered a stroke since the killing. He is unable to speak and is partially paralyzed.

Williams was charged with first-degree murder and abuse of a corpse in the killing of his girlfriend, 44-year-old Rebecca Magallanes.
