PUEBLO, COLO. -- A 29-year-old Vestas worker is recovering from injuries he suffered while at the Vestas plant in Pueblo Friday morning.
The man was preparing to complete the assembly of a wind tower when the section came loose. The man fell, trying unsuccessfully to stabilize himself by grabbing something sharp. He sustained injuries to his hand, and police said he say lose a finger.
He was taken to Parkview Hospital with non life-threatening hand and hip injuries.
This is the second time since the plant's opening there has been an injury. Three weeks ago a man died at the factory when he was pinned between a flatbed railroad car and a large forklift.
The plant opened about a month ago and created hundreds of jobs for the area.
