PUEBLO COUNTY, COLO. -- Crews from the Pueblo County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Bureau rescued a dog Friday after he fell over an 80 foot cliff.
Officials said a Springer Spaniel was getting some hunting dog training from his owner when he got distracted, went off course and fell over the cliff Thursday. The dog was not injured but unable to get out of the ravine.
It was too dark to attempt a recovery Thursday night, but crews rappelled down the cliff and rescued the dog safely.
“It’s nice to help out whenever we can," Deputy Dylan Jacketta, who made the rescue, said. "Even in this type of call, we get to practice resourcefulness, technique, and skill. Plus we get to reunite two good friends."
