PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- The manager overseeing destruction of chemical weapons in Colorado and Kentucky is taking a different job in the Army.
The Army announced Wednesday that Kevin Flamm is leaving the Assembled Chemical Weapons Alternatives program to join the Army's acquisition, logistics and technology operation.
Flamm oversaw planning to destroy weapons at Pueblo Chemical Depot, Colo., and Blue Grass Army Depot, Ky.
The U.S. is obligated by treaty to destroy its chemical weapons. Most are being incinerated under the Army's Chemical Materials Agency. The Colorado and Kentucky stockpiles will use chemical neutralization.
Flamm's interim replacement is the director of the Chemical Materials Agency. The Army says the two agencies remain separate by law.
