COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Academy District 20 officials said they found students using heroin and other substances at Air Academy High School, and one student has been arrested.
Officials said school administrators have spent hours this week interviewing students after some students reported heroin use by other students. Law enforcement authorities arrested one student, and several others have been disciplined for violating the district's drug and alcohol policy.
During the investigation, no students reported using drugs or seeing others use drugs on campus. District officials would not say how many students were using drugs but did say it is a small number of the 1,350 enrolled students.
Officials said the location of the use of drugs does not play a role in the disciplinary action taken by the administration.
