EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- A woman died after failing to stop at a stop sign and crashing into a hummer in southern El Paso County Saturday afternoon, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

The 23-year-old woman was driving a green Mazda 6 east on Fontaine Boulevard when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Marksheffel Road around 4:40 p.m. A 33-year-old woman driving a yellow Hummer driving on Marksheffel Road collided with the Mazda.

Officials pronounced the 23-year-old dead at the scene. The 33-year-old was treated for minor injuries before being released.

The Colorado State Patrol said both women were wearing seatbelts, and drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash.
