PUEBLO, COLO. (AP) -- A contractor working at a Vestas wind turbine tower factory in Colorado has died in what company officials say was an industrial accident.

John Keel, who worked for Southlake, Texas-based Transportation Technology Services Inc., died Wednesday following an accident at the plant near Pueblo.

Sgt. Eric Bravo told The Pueblo Chieftain that Keel was pinned between a flatbed railroad car and a large forklift.

Keel is the son of John A. "Tony" Keel of George County, Miss., one of 11 candidates running for sheriff in the Nov. 2 election.

A Vestas spokesman said the company and TTS are cooperating in the investigation to find out what went wrong.

The Vestas plant opened just a few weeks ago and created hundreds of jobs in Pueblo.
