COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A 9 year old spayed Australian Cattle Dog mix named Keesha is looking to be a part of someone's family.

Stacey Candella from the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region (HSPPR) was on FOX21 Morning News to feature Keesha as the "Pet of the Week".

"Keesha has been at the shelter before," says Candella. "In fact, she was adopted in 2009 from us. She is an excellent dog who is friendly to everyone and loves to give gentle kisses.

Candella says the dog's owners came upon unfortunate circumstances and had to give her up.

"She's obviously been in and out of homes over her 9 years, so we'd love to find her a permanent, committed home," says Candella.

Her adoption fee is $98 and because it is Adopt A Dog Month, you'll also receive a reflective collar from the Republic of Paws boutique.

Pawtoberfest is coming up Saturday, Oct. 9.

The 5k walk/run begins at 9 a.m. at America the Beautiful Park followed by a special dog festival and costume contest at Nosh.

All proceeds benefit the animals HSPPR.
