PUEBLO, COLO. -- Two Pueblo natives are teaming up to help the local Boys and Girls Club and create jobs in Colorado.
They invented a unique cell phone case called a "snark." It's something that protects smartphones, and it's made at the company's factory in Cripple Creek, Colo.
They're donating $100,000 of the proceeds they make selling snarks to the Pueblo Boys and Girls Club to help with costs and eventually start a program for young entrepreneurs.
They said it's their way of giving back.
"This is a handmade piece, and the craftsmanship's incredible, we can do better than anyone in the world," co-creator Jeff Valdez said. "We've kind of lost that here in America, and we want to bring that back."
His partner agreed.
"Part of the culture of the company is creating a system that spends a good chunk of its profits in philanthropic areas," co-creator Gary Birch.
