LOVELAND, COLO. (AP) -- Prosecutors have filed an arson charge against a man accused of accidentally igniting a wildfire that destroyed two homes and charred 740 acres in the foothills west of Loveland.

Larimer County district attorney's spokeswoman Linda Jensen said Friday that Joel Ledermann has agreed to turn himself in. He faces one count of fourth-degree arson.

His attorney, Marco Scalise, didn't immediately return messages.

Authorities previously said the fire was started by someone burning leaves and other debris without a required permit.

On Wednesday, prosecutors in Boulder County said they would not file charges in another wildfire that burned 10 square miles and destroyed more than 166 homes.
