EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa has issued a fire ban for unincorporated parts of El Paso County effective Wednesday.
El Paso County is the latest in a list of local areas laying out fire restrictions as a result of dry conditions and high winds. In El Paso County, like Freemont County, no open burns are permitted during the ban.
Colorado Springs also has a fire restriction in place.
