COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- An auto versus pedestrian accident in Colorado Springs sent a woman to the hospital with serious injuries Monday night.

The female victim was struck just after 11 p.m. in the 400 Block of South Circle Drive. Police said she was crossing the street mid-block when it happened.

The woman was taken to Memorial Hospital with a fractured pelvis and brain injury.

Her name has not been released.

Both directions of South Circle Drive were shut down for around 90 minutes while police investigated the accident.

Police do not suspect speed was a factor. They do believe the victim may have been under the influence of alcohol.
