Some residents return to homes near fire zone

FOURMILE CANYON, COLO. -- Some people who live in the Fourmile Canyon fire zone are being allowed back home Thursday.

Residents in three subdivisions will be allowed to return to their neighborhoods and survey the damage.

However, the fire is only about 10 percent contained with more than 500 firefighters actively working 6,300 acres of flames.

Strong winds are expected Thursday and Friday.

So far, 139 homes have been destroyed and about 3,500 people remain evacuated.

There are no reports of deaths or injuries, but four people are unaccounted for.
