EL PASO COUNTY, COLO. -- The El Paso County Commissioners voted unanimously Thursday to oppose Amendments 60, 61 and Proposition 101 on the November ballot. They said the three amendments would decrease funding for roads and schools, having long-lasting effects on residents.

Voters will still get the chance to voice their opinion on the matter on Election Day.

El Paso County voters will also be given the chance to extend term limits from two to three terms for District Attorney, County Commissioners and other county offices.

The Colorado Springs City Council also decided which issues to put on the ballot.

Voters will be given a chance to decide whether or not they want a strong mayor form of government.  The initiative would make the mayor a full-time elected chief executive, overseeing the budget and daily operations.

Voters will also be able to decide whether or not the city should be able to use a $600,000 surplus from last year for road and bridge repairs and public safety services.

Under TABOR, the city is not able to spend the money without voter approval. If voters choose not to let the city use the money, it would have to be returned to taxpayers.

The City Council voted in late August not to let voters decide whether or not medical marijuana dispensaries should be banned in the city. El Paso County voters will be able to vote on the dispensary issue for unincorporated parts of the county.
