DENVER (AP) -- President Barack Obama is taking the phone, again, to promote Colorado Sen. Michael Bennet over his Democratic challenger in next week's primary.
The president planned an evening conference call Tuesday with Bennet, who faces a challenge from fellow Democrat Andrew Romanoff.
It's not the first time Colorado Democrats have heard from the president by phone on the primary race. Last month Obama recorded automated calls that went to 464,000 households with affiliated Democrats. The president also came to Denver earlier this year to campaign in person for Bennet.
The Democratic primary is mostly mail-in and will wrap up Aug. 10.
