DENVER (AP) -- U.S. Sen. Mark Udall says he wants his fellow senators to vote on a nomination to federal court in Colorado.

Udall said he planned to go to the Senate floor Thursday to call for consideration of the nomination of Bill Martinez. He says President Barack Obama nominated Martinez as a federal judge in February and the Senate Judiciary Committee approved him in April.

Udall and Sen. Michael Bennet last week requested a vote on the nomination. They say Martinez would fill a a vacancy that has been open for almost two years.
