COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Colorado Springs police may be cracking down on a recent rash of armed robberies.
Officers arrested two suspects Tuesday night after two more convenience stores were targeted.
The first happened at 11:00 p.m. at the Diamond Shamrock on Arlington Drive near South Circle Drive.
Police say three black or Hispanic males entered the store, one of them armed with a gun, and stole cash and cigarettes.
Then, twenty minutes later police say the suspects tried to rob the Loaf N Jug on South Chelton but the doors were locked.
The clerk managed to get a vehicle description before they fled the scene.
When officers caught up with them, two of the suspects jumped out of the vehicle and the driver sped away leading police on both a foot pursuit and car chase.
Police arrested the driver of the getaway vehicle at the Lincoln Springs Apartments on South Chelton and a canine unit was able to track down another armed suspect.
He was bitten by the dog and taken to a local hospital.
The other suspect who ran away on foot is still on the loose.
