ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (AP) -- A 27-year-old woman has been rescued after hanging for hours from a cliff wall on Longs Peak in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Officials say four park rangers who were flown by helicopter to the top of the 14,259-foot mountain climbed down to help Carolyn Davidson early Wednesday morning.
The Fort Collins woman had become stuck Tuesday when descending Longs Peak. She attached herself with an anchor to the cliff wall and her climbing partner went for help.
Park officials say rangers reached Davidson at 12:15 a.m. Wednesday, gave her dry clothes, food and water. They helped her up the ledge and the group reached the summit at 3 a.m. Davidson was flown out at 8 a.m.
