COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- Vultures are often a misunderstood creature.
Many people fear them.
But the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo's (CMZ) vulture expert says the birds have an important purpose.
Jenyva Turner was on FOX21 Morning News with a lesson in "vulture 101".
She says vultures have strong stomach juices that can kill bacteria and diseases.
The birds are also part of the Quarters for Conservation project at the CMZ, where zoo visitors can vote for the animal they want conservation efforts to focus on.
