CANON CITY, COLO. -- Members of the Fremont County Combined Investigative Response Team (CIRT) have arrested a Wyoming man for a variety of charges spanning two states, including Colorado.

44 year old Christopher Jeffries was arrested July 7 by members of the CIRT team in Laramie, Wyoming.

According to the Canon City Police Department, Jeffries was in custody in Wyoming after being arrested on an outstanding warrant.

He had been at large since 1998.

Police say Jeffries is alleged to have assaulted a Penrose woman in June of this year, sexually assaulting her and transporting her to Wyoming where she was further assaulted.
