ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (AP) -- A ranger in Rocky Mountain National Park has reached a hiker who fell 150 feet on Longs Peak.
Park officials say rangers got a cell phone call at about 2 p.m.
Thursday saying that the 28-year-old man had fallen down the 14,259-foot mountain. A ranger was flown by helicopter to the summit of Longs Peak and hiked down. The ranger reached the man at about 4 p.m.
Park spokeswoman Kyle Patterson says the hiker is conscious and appears to be in stable condition. His injuries are being assessed and rangers are considering ways to get him off the mountain.
The park is about 70 miles northwest of Denver.
