DENVER (AP) -- Gov. Bill Ritter says Colorado will have to make more budget cuts if Congress doesn't extend federal funding for Medicaid.
Ritter joined governors from around the country in a teleconference Wednesday urging Congress to act quickly.
Ritter says if Congress fails to approve the extension, Colorado would face an additional $211 million shortfall in the fiscal year that starts Thursday.
The governors say that will result in crowded classrooms and prisons and will hurt people who depend on federal health programs.
