COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- A 58-year-old woman died in a motorcycle crash that happened Thursday just before 1 p.m. when she failed to negotiate a right curve on southbound Interstate 25 just north of the Bijou Street exit.
Police say the 2009 Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling south on I-25 in the left lane when the female driver and went off the left side of the roadway. The motorcycle struck the median guardrail and the driver was ejected.
The driver came to rest in the center median and died from her injuries. The victim was not wearing a helmet.
The motorcycle continued south for approximately 300 feet and came to rest in the off-ramp triangle for Bijou Street.
Investigators do not suspect speed, or alcohol were factors.
Identity of the driver is not being released until next-of-kin are notified.
