DENVER (AP) -- A Denver judge has approved a motion by Colorado Attorney General John Suthers that clears the way for him to try to have anti-tax activist Douglas Bruce held in contempt of court.
The decision Thursday finds that Bruce has been served with a subpoena to testify in a case involving three tax-cutting measures on the November ballot even though officials haven't been able to give the notice to him. Suthers says the state has tried to 30 times to serve the Colorado Springs resident with the subpoena.
Bruce has said he was out of state on vacation.
A spokesman for Suthers says the attorney general now will file a motion seeking to have Bruce held in contempt of court.
Bruce declined to comment to The Associated Press.
