FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) — Fort Carson's 2nd Brigade Combat Team is getting a new command sergeant major, Ralph F. Delosa.

Delosa will succeed Command Sgt. Maj. Kenneth J. Barteau in a ceremony Friday on the post.

A command sergeant major looks after the welfare of noncommissioned officers and enlisted personnel and makes recommendations to commanders. It's the highest noncommissioned officer rank in the Army.

Delosa is a 27-year Army veteran. His most recent assignment was command sergeant major for the 3rd Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum, N.Y.

Barteau will become garrison command sergeant major at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.
