Police respond to report of possible bomb at youth center

COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. -- On Wednesday just after 5:35 p.m., the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) received a call reporting a suspicious item found inside the Urban Peak Youth Center, 423 E. Cucharras St.

The item was initially described as a possible explosive device.

The CSPD Explosives Unit responded and examined the item and determined it was not a bomb.

The item consisted of electrical components, but contained no explosive substance.

The item was disposed of by the Explosives Detection Unit.
