FLORENCE, Colo. (AP) -- A man convicted of killing an 11-year-old Fargo girl in 1993 has been transferred to a federal prison in Arizona.
Kyle Bell has been held since January 2000 at the federal "super max" prison in Florence. He was recently moved to Tucson, Arizona. A Bureau of Prisons spokesman wouldn't say why Bell was moved.
Bell has been held in federal prison as part of a prisoner swap agreement with North Dakota's corrections department.
Bell was sentenced to life in 1999 for killing Jeanna North, whose family lived in his Fargo neighborhood. North disappeared in June 1993 and her body has never been found.
Bell was sent to the "super max" prison after he escaped from a prison transport bus in October 1999. He was captured three months later.
