GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) — A homeless advocacy group says Grand Junction police have donated 11 tents to replace some that were damaged at a camp along the Colorado River.

Police spokeswoman Kate Porras told Grand Junction station KKCO-TV that the tent donation is part of an investigation into alleged misconduct by three police officers.

Housing First No More Deaths organizer Jacob Richards says he began handing out the donated tents on Monday.

Grand Junction police earlier this month announced that three officers were placed on paid leave May 7 after Richards filed a formal complaint. His complaint alleged that officers slashed tents, punctured bicycle tires and wrecked other property at the camp May 3.
