BUENA VISTA, COLO. (AP) -- A water pipeline system that supplies 70 percent of water to Colorado Springs is back in service after crews repaired damage caused by a 140-ton boulder.
Repair crews shut down the Homestake Pipeline System to make the repair caused by a rockslide near Buena Vista in April.
Water service to Colorado's second-largest city of about 400,000 was not interrupted.
Officials say the boulder damaged a 66-inch pipe that is buried 5 feet underground.
Colorado Springs Utilities' officials last week announced the system was back in service.
The 250-mile Homestake Pipeline System originates near Leadville.
