DENVER (AP) -- A Towaoc man has pleaded guilty in the beating of a woman at his home on Indian land.

Fifty-one-year-old Floyd Box Jr. pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court on Thursday to assault with a dangerous weapon and abusive sexual contact.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Dondi Osborne says Box used his fists and feet, a broomstick, a knife, an empty liquor bottle and a stereo in the attack on Nov. 28.

Witnesses told investigators Box had been drinking. Box's lawyer, Ronald Gainor, said Box does not remember much of that night.

A sentencing date wasn't immediately set.
