ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. (AP) -- A 27-year-old woman from Golden is in the hospital after her car rolled down an embankment and landed in a creek in Rocky Mountain National Park.

The single-car accident at about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday severely injured the woman and temporarily closed Bear Lake Road in the park about 70 miles northwest of Denver. Park officials say the car landed on its wheels in Glacier Creek.

The woman, whose name wasn't released, was flown by an air ambulance to the Medical Center of the Rockies in Fort Collins.

Estes Park rescue workers helped extricate the woman from the car.

Authorities are investigating what caused the accident. They say the woman wasn't wearing a seatbelt.
